My undergraduate education was greatly enriched by early and genuine research experiences!
At UT Austin, I was part of the Freshmen Research Initiative program, and I found my passion for ecology at Kellogg Biological Station! Having good mentors at UT and KBS made a big difference in my ability to pursue a career in science.
As a graduate student, I strived to be a good teacher and mentor and to help students engage in meaningful research experiences. I served as a Cedar Creek Grad Fellow every summer in graduate school, which has given me the opportunity to mentor student independent projects through the years! I have also been the TA for the field ecology course at Cedar Creek, I highly recommend taking this course to anyone curious about ecology.

If you are interested in applying to graduate school, I helped write a guide for the application process. Also feel free to reach out if you need someone to ask questions about graduate school in ecology!
